  ESP Winner’s Circle:
“No Fear” Sweepstakes Winner Flynn Lewis

As you’ve probably seen, ESP often hosts contests and sweepstakes. Many of you have asked us about the lucky winners of these contests, so we’re happy to add this new area of the ESP web site, The Winner’s Circle, to tell you all about the experience of winning an ESP contest. First up: the winner of our sweepstakes for the “No Fear” music tour, Flynn Lewis.

When we pick winners of ESP contests and sweepstakes, it’s a truly random process. Out of the thousands and thousands of people who enter each of the sweepstakes, we use a random number sequence to come up with the winner. In the sweepstakes we held along with Live Nation for the “No Fear” tour, that random number led us to a guy named Flynn Lewis, from Gallup, New Mexico. While pretty much every ESP contest winner is very stoked to be picking up the great prizes that come with being the chosen one, Flynn has a few things going for him that made us very proud that fate led him to us, and us to him.

First, this guy is a veteran who has served two tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, and we’re happy to have had the opportunity to give something back to a person who’s given so much already. Second, Flynn had never experienced anything like what we were able to give him as part of his prize package... staying in a fine hotel, riding in limousines and so on was not part of Flynn’s daily life by any means. We really enjoyed the fact that he was so appreciative of these things that some people take for granted.

As a reminder, let us tell you what Flynn won. First, we flew him and his girlfriend Olivia up to Denver, where he got VIP seats at the Fillmore to see bands like Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, and God Forbid. But that was just the beginning. Flynn and his lady got to meet-and-greet with members of the bands, got $500 spending cash to have a good time while he was there, and went home with a brand new Will Adler signature model, the new LTD WA-600 Black Camo.

Flynn is a big fan of ESP, and an even bigger fan of Lamb of God, so needless so say, he was beyond stoked to be there. ESP’s director of marketing and artist relations Allen Steelgrave met him and Olivia on the day of the show (always fun trying to find someone amongst tens of thousands of people going to a sold-out show), and then had some drinks in the bar while they waited for the limo to arrive. Since this was Flynn’s first time in a limo, they had some fun and took some pics, and then it was off to the show.

Pulling up to the front door, there was a huge line of people (again, we’re talking about a sold-out show here), but our VIP contest winner was escorted inside, carrying his brand new Will Adler LTD guitar that would eventually get signed by some of his favorite musicians. Everyone was very cool about welcoming Flynn and Olivia... as always, big thanks to our ESP artists, who are among the coolest people in the music world. Over the course of the evening, our winner would meet the members of Lamb of God, along with members of God Forbid and even

Alexi Laiho of Children of Bodom, many of whom signed his new guitar. It should be noted that earlier in the day, Alexi had managed to fall out of bed and break his shoulder! Ouch! Most people would have cancelled the show, but not Alexi... as he approached the stage, he had his guitar tech handing him his guitar, and a doctor chasing him, holding Alexi’s x-ray results and admonishing him about playing with a broken shoulder. Like the rocker he is, Alexi not only did his show, but met with our winner as well.

The entire “No Fear” show was great, and we were really happy to have chosen a winner who was so deserving of some good luck. Keep in mind that ESP hosts many contests and sweepstakes each year, and we still have several flyaway contests in 2009, as well as chances to win guitars, motorcycles, games, swag, and more. Keep those entries coming, and tell your friends as well, since there are always chances to be a winner here at ESP Guitars. Perhaps our next Winner’s Circle article will feature you!
