    ESP-Donated Guitars Raise Over $57K for Metallica's "All Within My Hands"

    Friday, December 16, 2022 was a special night for Metallica. Their annual Helping Hands Concert & Auction was held on that night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles with the purpose of raising funds for the band's All Within My Hands charitable nonprofit organization, and the final show of the year for Metallica turned out to be their single biggest fundraising benefit to date. All Within My Hands is dedicated to creating sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services. 100% of donations to AWMH go directly to local organizations that the Foundation supports.

    ESP has had a decades-long relationship with Metallica members James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett, and we've always been willing to step up when the band needs something from us... especially for such a great cause as their All Within My Hands events! For the 2022 Helping Hands Concert & Auction, we donated two special guitars with custom graphics that were signed by all four members of Metallica and then auctioned. One was an LTD M Series guitar that featured AWMH artwork. This guitar fetched $16,560 from a generous bidder.

    The second guitar was a bit more spectacular. It was an LTD TL-12 12-string guitar that Kirk Hammett played during the concert, with a unique Snow White finish and featuring the Ouija™ graphics in gold, made famous by several of Kirk's ESP Custom Shop and Limited Edition models. That guitar, thanks to a very generous anonymous bidder at the auction, pulled in $41,200. Together with the M Series guitar, ESP helped AWMH raise a total of $57,760 for this fantastic fundraising effort.

    Both guitars were customized in Southern California by Ryan Dominguez, the renowned master painter for ESP USA. We are humbled and grateful that our donated instruments became successful efforts in the noble goals of Metallica and All Within My Hands.     Thank you for what you do, you guys are great! 

    As a lifelong fan of Metallica, I have always been captivated by their music and performances. One of my favorite aspects of their concerts is watching how the band interacts with the audience on a nonverbal level. The way they move and gesture can create such an electric atmosphere and it's truly amazing to see how it ignites the fans. For anyone who is interested in the psychology and communication behind this kind of nonverbal interaction, I recommend checking out this essay on nonverbal communication, as someone who is currently studying psychology, I find this topic to be incredibly fascinating and it's always exciting to learn more about it. Thinking back on my childhood, I have so many fond memories of listening to Metallica with my friends and going to their concerts. It's incredible to see how much they've accomplished over the years, both musically and through their charitable work with All Within My Hands. I'm grateful for their music and for the memories it's given me, and I can't wait to see what they'll do next.
