can someone can help me out with my 5150?.... i have big time hum and noise.... well it sounds more like if your amp was on and there wasn't a guitar plugged in, it's that kinda hum coming out of the cab and i think it's somewhere in the power amp stage because when the post gain is at 0 its quiet but as soon as you turn it up it gets louder and louder. any info would be helpfull..... by the way im going from a eppi V with EMG 81/85 into a marshall BB-2 pedal to a korg DTR-2000 tuner then straight into the amp, and all the cables are gold monsters if you guys need to know more about what i got to troubleshoot it plase let me know thanks

have you tried without the pedals and different cables ? Also, active pickups can pick up hum from TV's or computer monitors, so I dunno if you happen to have one nearby thats on when you're playing ?

Could just as well be the amp tho, just throwing it out there

yes i have tried other cables and taken the pedals out of the chain and it still does it... and as far as the t.v. or computer monitors there is none where we jam at but thanks for the help!

There could easily be a noisy valve/tube pickup up excess noise check the preamp tubes too it could be one of them...

ya'll niggas gettin' trolled... everyone knows that the 5150 is a very dirty sounding amp(power section) due to its circuitry being biased on the cold side.
