So, I own one of these Esp Horizon lll reindeer blue guitars and I have 2 quick questions...1. Why is my headstock logo different. I have an LTD headstock on it when every one I have seen other than mine does not. 2. Because I tune to A sharp would I have to have the intonation set up for this guitar considering I am assuming it’s standard setup. Reason being is that it’s just not staying in tune after a few plays. Just curious. I know the hefty price tag on this guitar so I was just wondering why the issues? Any help would be very greatly appreciated as I normally play Guitars with string locks so I left wondering. Thanks for reading!

Hi Rob, Thanks for reaching out to us. For the first question I'm afraid it's difficult to understand your question. We make 2 different brands. The E-II brand has an E-II logo and is made in Japan. The LTD model has an LTD logo and is made in either Korea or Indonesia. If you have an LTD logo, then you own the LTD H-3-1000 model.
For question #2, we setup all our guitars in standard tuning, so you will need to adjust your intonation and your neck / truss rod if you will be changing tuning and string gauge. If you need further help please contact our customer service team at customerservice@espguitars.com .

Just a follow up to my question from a fe months ago. I asked about why my headstock on the Esp elite horizon iii LTD markings on it instead of the Eiii logo and I got an answer. It was because the guitar was made in either in Korea or Indonesia which if you look at the pics I have included is clearly marked Japan. My wife mentioned to me that she paid the 1600 a few years back for this guitar and after researching it looks like the Ltd was only about 950-1000. Did she get burned by the place she bought it or is the marking wrong on the guitar? Just curious is all. Check out the pics should you be so inclined and thank you so much for all the help.
Hey Rob, the logo is different on this instrument as it was produced during a time when we were making LTD Elite instruments, this has since been changed to E-II. Still a different instrument than LTDs with a build quality higher than that of LTD 1000 series instruments, $1,600 was retail for these while they were on the market.
Does this guitar have a full flame maple cap or is it a plain maple cap with a flame veneer?
Hey Daniel, this will have a plain maple top with a flamed maple veneer over top that. Hope this helps!
Hey!
I would really like to see this guitar available with a floyd rose in the reindeer blue finish. I hope this is something you might consider for the future!
Hey Moje, thanks for your recommendation!!
It would be cool if there was a picture that showed all the different pick up configurations you could make with the 3 way selector switch and the coil tap feature. I'd also like to know if my guitar doesn't use stainless steel frets then what kind of frets are they?
Hey James, there are some images similar to what you are looking for within our Owner's Manual. Also, the frets of this instrument will be made of a nickel/silver alloy.
I think this 27 fret Horizon III with a reverse 6 inline or this teardrop headstock with a hardtail or non locking trem would be a really cool new E-II model as the current E-II Horizon III lineup is a bit long in the tooth. We have had the same purple hardtail for a very very long time (like 7 years or something) and yes there's a new fade finish for the floyd model, but the underpinings are still quite old. Plus, I just think 27 frets really really compliments the beautiful Horizon III shape. A 27 fret Horizon III would also be a cool Original Series model in liquid metal blue or pink.
Hi Sunny, Thank you for all your suggestions. That is a fine looking guitar! We do appreciate your feedback and constructive criticism on our designs.
Does the E-II line have stainless steel frets?
Hi Antonio, No we do not use stainless steel frets for the E-II product line currently.
Really wish that they would use stainless steel frets on the E-II line, especially for the high asking price.
Hi Sunny, Thanks for letting us know. We appreciate your feedback.

When are these likely to be shipped out to the UK again? I placed and order with GAK back in Feb and they quoted a delivery of March from supplier information. It got to the end of March and still no sign of a shipment. Then I got told they weren't expecting a shipment until mid April. I've just been on the phone to them today and now they're saying they won't receive any until September. If someone has paid a deposit and the purchase order has gone through why are the shipping dates not adhered to considering these guitars aren't cheap? I was looking forward to owning my first ESP, but I have been put off by the constant push backs to my order, which is beyond GAKs control.
Hi Anthony, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We have notified the distributor of your issue and asked them to assist your dealer in order to get your guitar delivered sooner.
Good day. Tell me, what is the thickness and width of the neck of this guitar, as well as its weight. In the stores of my city, the ESP lineup is not at all, so it’s not possible for me to hold it in my hands.
Hi Alex, the neck width is 42mm at nut, and 57mm at end of fingerboard. The thickness is 20mm at 1st fret and 22mm at 12th fret. This is our standard Thin U neck shape. For the weight it varies depending on the wood, but should be close to around 8 lbs.
My wife bought me this guitar last Christmas and it kicks ass I had the pickups switched out to a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker in the bridge position and a 59’bridge pickup in the neck.Awesome guitar, hands down the best I have ever owned.I do not mind that the ESP logo being on the 12th fret and the E-ll on the headstock.Doesn’t change the way it plays.Killer Axe! Impeccable craftsmanship.
Hi Art, Thank you for your excellent review. We are so glad to hear how much you like your guitar. Thanks for choosing ESP!
I just ordered this guitar and can't wait to get it but can you explain the reasoning behind the pickup choice. This guitar looks metal through and through but the Custom 5 certainly does seem like the first choice for metal.
The Custom 5 works great for metal, it's like a higher-output version of the JB, and the high mids are much more aggressive, so it's a great choice for metal.
HI Lynel, Thanks for adding that. Yes this pickup works great for metal and also is a little more versatile and can be used for things other than metal.
Hi Pitdog360, Many of our guitars can be used for many genres or styles of music. In this case the Custom-5 is a higher output pickup compared to many classic Duncans. It may not be considered a "Metal" pickup, but it is certainly capable of generating metal tones. There are a lot of metal players who use super high output pickups, then again there are plenty of metal players who prefer a lower output pickup that provides a cleaner signal while letting the amp do more of the work to distort the signal. I would say the Custom 5 is is medium output pickup.
I posted the original comment before I got the guitar. Now that I have the guitar I totally get it. With it being lower output the signal is so clean and clear but still very aggressive. It's my favorite pickup I own. And my favorite guitar.
Hey Pitdog360, Thanks for following up after you received the guitar. We're happy that you like the guitar and the pickup!
I have an E-II Horizon with the same pickup configuration and it works great for any genre, especially metal.
Hi Rich, Thanks for posting your comments. That's great to hear.
I agree with Antonio. I'm about to buy this guitar because the neck profile is perfect for me and I love the pickups and the ebony fretboard. Perfect for my playing style and my sound. Goes so well with my EVH 5150III. But I truly wish there were more finish options.
Hi Josh, Thanks for commenting. We appreciate it and we also consider all of suggestions we get.
I think the same pearl white that they have on the ESP original series Horizon 3 would look awesome on this guitar. Or make the ESP version without the Floyd Rose, that'd be even better.
Reverse headstock would be cool on this guitar
