TE-200
TE-200
TOBACCO SUNBURST
Back when ESP was founded in 1975, its original claim to fame was taking existing guitars and making them better, with modified necks and components that increased their playability and sonic quality. Today, ESP is still proud to offer classic guitar shapes that feel and sound better than you’d expect, especially at the affordable pricing in our LTD Series. Available in a number of finishes, the TE-200 is a great guitar for rock, classic rock, country, blues, and more. It features a mahogany body, and a fast, thin U-shaped maple neck with 24-fret roasted jatoba fingerboard. Pickups on the TE-200 are a set of ESP Designed LH-150, a good, high-output humbucker that's versatile in tones, making the TE-200 a terrific all-around guitar for every gig.
I purchased this guitar directly from this website. Out of nowhere in the first week or two, after only a few hours of play time and sitting in its case, I noticed when the pickup selector switch was in the bridge position, the sound it produced was terrible, I'm guessing due to faulty wiring? Mostly, it wouldn't register any signal at all. The pickup selector does not feel as secure/sturdy compared to other's I've played. Customer service directed me to Guitar Center for a repair, who ordered a new pickup selector switch, and their tech got it installed. The bridge position started malfunctioning again after about a week of intermittent playing. This guitar sounds great and is fun to play, but for anyone looking at buying this, I would recommend getting your hands on it for a thorough demo.
First, I am not a good guitarist and definitely in the "budget" end of the market, but I know what looks good and sounds good. My TE200 TS has fantastic quality for the price and makes even my clumsy efforts sound great. Flawless finish, quality components - immediately feels better, sturdier and more comfortable than any number of other guitars I have tried out in shops. (I searched for over 6 years before selecting the TE). Have not had to tune it since delivery 2 years ago (although I do not bend strings often and keep my guitars in an approximately constant humidity environment). Would immediately buy again if lost or stolen. Trying to find an amplifier upgrade to match the quality.
