AP-5
AP-5
BLACK
With the LTD AP-5, we started with a traditionally-styled body, but then took things in a new, high-performance direction that only ESP can offer. Designed to be a 5-string bass that blows away the expectations of players of any musical style, from metal to punk, reggae to funk, the AP-5 has the great playing feel and the professional components that make it a winner by any definition. It begins with a classic bolt-on design, with an alder body and smooth, thin U-shaped maple neck at 34" scale. For an excellent variety of tone, the AP-5 offers a set of active EMG P5 and LJ5 pickups, with a volume, balance, and tone control to dial in your sound quickly. It offers an ebony fingerboard with 21 extra-jumbo frets, reliable Grover tuners, and a Babicz FCH-5 bridge for terrific tone and sustain power.
Is there any chance for a relaunch of the LTD Surveyor Series, with maple/ roasted maple or ebony fretboards, white pearloid/ acrylic inlays or dot inlays, and MM style pickups with active/passive electronics? I've been playing a LTD J-205 as my main bass, and the old Surveyors are pretty hard to come by, as they sell fast on the used market.
With the recent release of the 87' Surveyor it is doubtful. Though you can always special order an ESP AP bass from any ESP dealer.
