Hi, I've got my ltd EC1000p several months ago and everything was working fine. but the other day when I plugged my guitar in JACK 1 with mono cable the magnetic pickup didn't work. when I use the mag/piezo selector only piezo pickup have sound. It means I don't have the blend of both magnetic and piezo right now. please help me with this. what could be the problem?
it is good to know that when I use JACK 2 the magnetic pickups work fine and when I use a stereo cable in JACK 1, just piezo pick up have sound and nothing is coming out of magnetic pickups.
appreciate any help or idea on this.
Hi Arman, Did you try changing the battery? That is always the first thing to check. If it's not that, then I would suggest checking the output jack wiring and making sure that something did not break or move. It is common for example if the jack gets loose it could turn or spin and one of the wires or contacts could break or touch something and cause the output to be lost. If you need further help please contact your dealer or our customer service team at customerservice@espguitars.com
Todd,
Thanks for the help. I changed the battery and it solved the problem. the old battery had around 6V in it instead of 9V.
Thanks again for the reply.
Hey Arman, Glad to hear that! One tip I can give you is to unplug your cable when not in use, because it will drain the battery slowly. Usually batteries will last a long time, maybe a year or 6 months, but once the voltage gets much lower than 9V it should be replaced. Sometimes you will hear a distorted sound or "fuzzy" sound and it could be the battery is getting too weak.
Hi,
I see that there has been an update to this model and it now includes push pull coil splits. Mine does not have that so I am wondering if it is possible to add to mine (does the pickups have the needed wiring in the pre updated model) and if it is possible, do you sell the items that are needed to make it work?
Hi Snir, The push pull function to split the coil is done by changing out the tone pot and reconfiguring the wiring. You should not have to replace the pickup. You can take your guitar to any repair person to have this sort of thing done. Sorry but we do not sell the parts to do this. If you need more help on this contact our customer service team at customerservice@espguitars.com
Does the back of the neck have a gloss or satin finish?
Hi Kyle, the back of neck is gloss finish with matching paint.
Hello, in the diagram for EC1000P it says jack 2 for magnetic PU only. But in video demonstration it says its for piezo PU. Am I missing somethng? Thanks.
Hi Mei, The diagram on the product page is correct. Please refer to that information and thanks for pointing this out.
Is it possible to get the piezo in a different guitar? In a custom one? I really want something like the LTD H-1001, neck-through, double-cutaway with the LTD H-1001 headstock and a piezo.
Hi Christopher, This is not an option but it's possible we could introduce this Piezo bridge on another model in the future. This bridge doesn't work on our H-1001 because we use a Hipshot hardtail bridge. But you could also customize any guitar with a TOM (Tune-O-Matic) bridge and install this Fishman piezo bridge.
can i get this guitar with an evertune bridge?
Hi Stephen, Sorry this model is not currently available with an Evertune bridge. It would not be possible because the Piezo pickup for the acoustic sound is located inside the "tune-o-matic" Fishman bridge on the original design. By putting an Evertune bridge on this model, you would not be able to have the piezo acoustic sound option. We do make 2 different EC-1000 models with Evertune bridge and Duncan pickups, one of those would be your best option.
Is there any way to pay the difference and get emg 81 85 into this?
Hi Jordan, thanks for your question. All our standard production models like this are built according to the original spec, so unfortunately we are not able to make one for you with different pickups.
Maybe someone can answer this question, I am just curious if there has been another specification update?
I had to send my ec1000p back in the beginning of this year due to a problem (was already the version with a pau ferro fretboard), now I just received the replacement from Thomann.
And to my surprise the new one also has a push pull knob for coil split . I mean thats amazing, makes this already flexible guitar even better. I am actually really happy that I had to replace the first one now
So I am just curious if this is now a default spec or how this could happen?
Hi Enrico, Yes the default spec now is that we are installing a push pull pot for splitting the pickups for all our 1000 series (only if they use passive pickups). And the pau ferro spec is current as well as we removed the model name from the 12th fret and now it is on the truss rod cover.
