DARK BROWN SUNBURST
The H-200FM is an excellent guitar for anyone who requires high quality and playability on a budget. Offering a flamed maple top in your choice of See Thru Red and Dark Brown Sunburst finishes, the H-200FM has set-neck construction for a nice and rounded tone. Its sound is powered by a pair of ESP Design humbucking pickups, and offers a hardtail bridge, mahogany body, three-piece maple neck, and roasted jatoba fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets.
Dude - freakin' awesome - we just spent 90 minutes playing with it! Came all set up and believe it or not was almost perfectly in tune upon arrival. Excellent workmanship/craftmanship, stunningly beautiful dark brown flamed sunburst finish, perfectly acceptable ESP pickup's and my b-stock model had only one minor blemish on the upper front of the waist. Very, very minor blemish, which you expect with b-stock, but for the extra discount super worth it. Ordered on Sept 16, inspected on Sept 16, delivered on Sept 21 by UPS, with box in perfect condition so it was treated with care by UPS - super nice bonus. Sounds great - using a positive grid spark go amp (baby amp with a ton of sound and features) and was able to metal it up and rattle the windows or play pristine and clean. The coil tapping ability is nice, not as good as it would be with duncan's or fishman's obviously, but an under $500 guitar tax included compared to over $1500 like an mh-1000 or similar. Perfect first electric guitar for my 11th grader who is leaving classical and folk guitars behind. Not a beginner guitar at all, a true intermediate level guitar priced like a beginner guitar. Again, it's only been one ninety minute session so far since we literally just got the guitar today - but as you see below the purchase process, budget conscious considerations, build materials, overall quality it's about the best $500 purchase I ever made! I have to wait until March to get mine, but my son is super happy today and so am I!
Ordered this model in dark brown sunburst for my 17 year old son. He has been playing my old classical and folk models for years, but wants to go electric. We did TONS of research, he tried out lots of different models and brands and configs. We decided to stick to a budget since it is his first electric, and this guitar fit the bill perfectly. It is basically like a full fledged H3 model but made in south east asia with ESP pick ups and a ltd bridge. Still mahogony, still built beautifully, still awesome in every way - just for more of a beginner/intermediate player with a great price. Came down to ESP and Schecter, and what made the difference was the thin u neck shape as opposed to a fast c or flat c, the body shape feel with the cutaways, and how the guitar felt overall. Took it one step further and went b-stock/player grade, which made it under $500 including tax. ESP sells player grade direct to consumers, Schecter does not. So we got what seems like an incredible price on an incredible entry-level guitar. Will follow up with the rest of the story once we receive it and try it out. But just saying, ESP made it easy, affordable, look cool, and feel great so far!
Holy smokes! What a beast! I bought the H-200FM and I am nowhere close to disappointed at all. For a $500 dollar guitar, it is pure bliss for me to play. I am troubled to say this but, this guitar plays as well, and maybe in some respects better or as good as my as my Les Paul Standard and SG. No offense to Gibson or to ESP for being troubled in that statement, but this is the truth from my standpoint. I am definitely going to order a USA ESP since I now know the quality is clearly omnipresent. Kudos ESP! You have a lifelong customer.
