Well, I bought this guitar a couple years ago, and recently the paint start to crack in the bottom edges, without receive any hit...

Got bridge problems too, it starts to bend, lowering the middle strings causing fret buzz..

Now I got to sell it for cheap... such a bad experience with it

Is it possible to get the wiring diagram of this model per chance?

Above should be a photo of my hand holding a file showing the model number after working a good amount of my frets down. I'm gonna be real: for the price point, I didn't expect a whole lot of QC. It's a US$200 7-string guitar. I expected to to do the upgrades myself piecemeal. Maybe I'm a weirdo for that. Maybe I'm not. Maybe we all just have different standards and expectations for the amount of money we're spending on a product. If I had the money to spend on a $3600 guitar, I'd expect it to be smooth like butter across the fretboard. I'd expect ALLLLL the bells and whistles. I'd expect it to sing just by looking at it. However, I don't have that kind of money, so I just assume (maybe erroneously, maybe not), I'm gonna do some back end labor to get the instrument I want out of it, and I'm fine with that. The cool thing is, though: the upgrades I give to this (I got some Seymore Duncan Black Winter pickups to solder in, for example) I can move to other instruments as I can afford them.

All that said, this is an amazing instrument for the price, and I'm glad I was able to get one.

I am wondering if there are multiple versions of this model, because as i see here and at most dealers, the fingerboard is made of engineered hardwood, but on thomann, it is made of roasted jatoba. Also on some images the guitar's finish looks metallic, and on a different dealer's website it looks matte.

I got this guitar for Christmas this year, been playing it for like 30 minutes and so far, it works great, the body and neck material is nice and stable. The pickups work like a charm and the strings were easy to tune.

The guitar's color is matte but seems metallic in the website photos, but it is still a beatiful guitar.

Great Guitar.

Is this a gloss or satin? I've seen both finishes and am not sure. Buying it in Australia.

I think it's Amazing you can get a Brand New Guitar like this for only $200. When I was growing up $200 would only get me a beat up used Guitar that would never stay in tune.

I just bought one of these from musiciansfriend and it has a decent crack in the fretboard. Neck is fine and it doesn’t really effect the playability for now but I worry down the road it may cause issues.. is there anyway I could order a new neck or fretboard for it? Just asking because if that’s not something I can do down the road I’m definitely gonna have to return it and get a refund and maybe reorder... please help thanks

Todd B. ESP

Hi, we do not offer necks separately however you can contact your dealer for a return or if you want to contact our customer service team they can help direct you on the best solution. Their email is customerservice@espguitars.com

I bought this guitar for my husband back in February, n the frets were so sharp it cut up his fingers and was able to shred paper no problem. Returned it, purchased a new one, same issue. Is this just something that’s going to happen with all of these guitars?

Todd B. ESP

Hi, Sorry for your experience. You can contact our customer service team if you need help. customerservice@espguitars.com

Agreed.  I got the same model recently and the quality control for the frets needs to be checked.  Though sometimes this can be subjective depending on where they come from.  They may have been perfect when they left, but with wood shrinkage due to climate, it can expose those ends.  It wasn't a big deal for me to use my fret files to smooth them out a bit.  Mine's fine now.

What is the differeve between the Guitar Center ones and nonGuitar Center ones. Where  can I order this to get it with the gig bag since guitar center's are different.

Todd B. ESP

The only difference is the color (Black or Black Satin) and the GC model doesn't have a bag. You can order our regular models from any Authorized ESP Dealer.

Hunter L.

I bought this guitar from guitar center and didn't get a gig bag with it. Are you only able to get the gig bag straight from esp and not other retailers?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Hunter, The GC model they sell is an exclusive, different SKU without a bag.  You can purchase a bag directly from ESP or any of our authorized retailers.

I’m planning on getting this for Christmas and I’m going to replace the tuners and put on Hipshot locking tuners. What size should I get? I see 4x3, 3x4, and 3x3. I haven’t been able to find what size the stock LTD tuners are.

Thanks

Would you ever consider changing the name Mh-17? because that was the name of a plane where almost 200 people were killed in by a russian missile.

gg p.

Hello

Would it be possible to convert the MH 17 to a 6 string guitar by replacing the bridge with a 4mm  tune-o-matic bridge with 2 29/32" post spacing?

Thank you

gg

Carl N.

Sure, though it wouldn't be recommended

James C.

Why not just go with the MH-10

Debendra S.

Hi, I want to buy this guitar and have minor upgrades in mind, I want to change the tuners to locking tuners. I have four string post height options. 21 mm, 19 mm, 20 mm, 23 mm. What is the string post length of esp ltd mh 17 and which string post length should I go for? Thanks!

Carl N.

should be about 22mm
