Wish they would chill with the ever tune. They only have one 7 string eclipse but has an ever tune. I hate to say it I may have no choice but to go with Epiphone.
Why on earth would you not put Fishman pickups on this one?
im wondering what's the material of the frets
Llevo mas de 2 años tratando de comprar esta guitarra. Soy de Argentina, el exportador que sale en la pagina no me contesto mas cuando le dije que quería este modelo.
En fin, seguiré en la búsqueda
Todd B ESP that one only has 22 frets. this one has 24 frets.
Hi, sorry I missed that. You're right, the 6 string version has 22 frets. It is not available in 24 frets. Your best bet is to consider an LTD model , which most of them come standard with 24 frets.
If you have any more questions, please contact ESP Customer Service at customerservice@espguitars.com
Where is the 6 string version of this? I need 24 frets just like this one.
Hi, it's right next to the 7 string, depending how you are sorting the models. Here is a link: https://www.espguitars.com/products/19086-e-ii-eclipse-evertune
Hi, Can you had some precision regarding the different pickup configuration ?
1. Neck / 2.Both / 3. Bridge ? is it correct ?
And what is the setting when you pull the knob ?
Thanks.
Hi, you are correct, The 3-way toggle switch has the standard pickup selection you described. The push pull pot will split both pickups at the same time, so it turns your pickup from humbucker into single coil.
Please make direct mounted pickups on Eclipses a thing.
Hi Devan, thanks for your suggestion.
Please, don't
Please don't, lol.
All kidding aside, you can direct mount them if you want to even with the rings...
Just remove the springs and put foam pads underneath.
I don't see what the big deal is, unless you're doing backflips on stage, the pickups should not be moving around if they're properly installed in the spring system.
Hey, Nick. Can't do backflips, with o or without guitar
Actually is not that easy. The neck pickup cavity is OK, but the bridge pickup cavity is not deep enough for every pickup. As I pointed out in other comment below, not suitable for every pickup.
I'll post some pics. Cheers!
Cuando podré tener este modelo en Argentina? Aquí sólo me ofrecen el modelo eclipse de Ltd.

Quick question. If I were to replace the pickups on this guitar, would it fit a soapbar style humbucker, or would I need to get a standard humbucker? I want one, but the entire decision lies with if I can throw my Bare Knuckle Aftermath soapbar humbuckers in there.
Soapbar pickups have a different footprint than that of standard humbuckers, safe to say some modifications would need to be done in order to accommodate another pickup style
I'm glad I'm not the only one not digging the bridge pickup. Also thinking of BKP, but Holy Diver or Nailbomb.
Jan, I have both, and I can maybe help with the decision! Nail bomb is good for 6-strings, but for 7's, the low end is kind of muddy and prominent. Holy Diver is good, but a little bit more difficult to mix in recording since the highs and high mids push through a lot. For 7-strings, I really like the Aftermaths because they have a really nice high and mid balance, with some subdued low end. I barely have to do any EQ adjustment on them, and when I'm just playing to play, they're still gorgeous sounding and clearer than the other two. Each one shines on a different type of guitar, but I feel like the Aftermaths are more well-rounded.
Speaking of active pickups for this guitar... as an example, an EMG 81-7 won't fit in that cavity,... but a SD Blackouts with passive mount would fit just fine. Am I right?
These are passive sized 7 string pickups, so the active sized soapbar housing style pickups will not fit.
Fishman has several options, they make a lot of their Fluence pickups in the 7 string passive sized housings -- the Keith Merrow signature 7's, the Javier Reyes signature 7's, there's many more too that they have that will fit perfectly.
In terms of fitting, the real issue is the depth of an active soapbar, like the EMG81-7... So I had to carve a bit into the cavity to get proper fit of the bridge pickup. Not that much, but it takes some work. Also, getting the correct mounting rings (also the correct curvature of the body or just adjusting the ring with sand paper), the screws for the rings, etc. etc.
I'm OK with Fishman Fluence and other pickups, but all my guitars have EMG81 or 81-7, and I've using them for more than 20 years now.
And I really love this guitar, and now it's an absolute beast...!!!
Here she is:
After more than half a year of ogling it I have finally ordered one - it's supposed to be here by Tuesday. Hopefully it'll live up to my expectations...
hope you enjoy it
Mine is in the mail. How are you liking yours?
Love the style of this guitar and I am considering buying one, but I do have 2 questions:
1) What is the weight of this guitar? I know many guitars of this body shape are on the heavier side.
2) What is the neck profile on this guitar like? Is it the same profile as the horizon series 7 string neck?
P.S. if this guitar was released with a 27" scale length I would immediately buy it. Since Evertune is incredible for downtuning, as are baritone scale lengths, having an ESP baritone guitar with an Evertune bridge would be a game changer.
These will be around 9lbs and both neck profiles will be the same thin U at 20mm at the 1st fret and 2mm at the 12th
Good day good people!
Are there any plans to release a 27" scale version of this for cave trolls like myself?
Hey John, no plans at the moment.
I back you up on this one! 27" scale would fit just perfect on this axe! This guitar is spectacular!
Ditto. If this had a 27" scale length I would buy it, no hesitation
Hi ESP, is the maple top on this black beauty a veneer or is it thicker, i.e. a "proper" top?
Hey Jan, this will be a traditional maple top.
It arrived and is now my favorite guitar in my lineup (that's saying a lot considering my American Made Jackson Soloist rips). This guitar plays fast as hell and sounds warmer than I ever thought a 7 string could sound. The finish is impeccable and the satin feels amazing on the neck. If you aren't onboard with Evertune then you're all wasting precious time tuning your instruments! God bless the Japanese luthiers that make these guitars! This thing stacks up against a Gibson Custom and it's about half the price! Now Please make me an E-II 8 string with Evertune and a satin finish so you can take more of my money!! LOL.
Hiya,
First of all, congrats! I must admit I have terrible GAS for this particular guitar, but it's really hard (impossible so far) to find one in a shop to try out. I'd buy it blind, but the one concern I have is how it handles drop A tuning, which I how I tune my guitars. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to wobbly/unstable/oscillating low A, and out of my 3 guitars only the 26.5 scale Schecter gave me a dead-stable, powerful powerchord on the open-strings drop A. The other 25.5 guitars I have cope (with really thick strings, i.e. 68/75), but the A sound weaker, less bassy if that makes sense and a bit less stable. Would you kindly do me a favour and try this baby out in drop A for me? Thank you and congrats again!
Oh, and Youtube needs an unboxing/review video of this guitar, as OI haven't any reviews yet! If you do make one, pleas epost a link here too!
Oh, and also what is the access not higher frets like? Thanks
Thanks for sharing Benjamin!
Trust me Carl I’ve seen the ec-1008. Lol. Not a fan of those pickups but may just buy one and swap them out. I’d prefer an e-ii model though. Lol.
Just ordered one and can't wait to add it to the collection (TE-1000, EC-1000, SH7) The Evertune bridges have changed my life by not having to worry about the guitar being in tune. The damn thing just works! It's amazing. Now if you make an 8 string of this you can just take more of my damn money. LOL. I seriously sold almost all of my other guitars to replace them with Evertune models.
Hey Benjamin, hope you enjoy it! We currently produce an EC-1008 with an Evertune, we'll be awaiting your order
This guitar is an absolute beast. The only thing keeping it from being absolutely perfect is its not in gold top finish haha. That black matte is nice and nobody hates black guitars but damn a gold top eclipse would be worth the divorce I gain from buying this guitar.
Thanks for the insight Sadasar!
I would buy this if it had stainless steel frets
I don't like the passive duncan pickups, I think it would look better with active style soapbar pickups, like fishman fluence, but that's not a deal breaker, can always change the pickups out myself, and both Fishman and EMG make active pickups that will fit in passive housings...
No SS frets _is_ a dealbreaker though :|
Hi Nick, Got it. Thanks for pointing that out. We will consider stainless steel frets in the future, however currently we only offer them on ESP USA and ESP Custom Shop models.
Nice to see somebody saying they like actives better than passives! The EMG X series would have been a sweet choice for this one, Fishman are good too
Christopher A., I must respectfully disagree. "Killer" guitar finishes are like tattoos, you better be 500% sure that's what you want, both now and in the future. Neutral colors and finishes work in virtually all situations, they send a vibe of mature refinement, subtle confidence and professionalism. I play in a Prog Metal band where image matters, and this guitar checks the "sinister and aggressive" box just perfectly with its Florentine cutaway and black hardware, yet I wouldn't hesitate to use it in a Classic Rock/Blues cover act, it looks and can be made to sound similar to the original axe of this shape. I would definitely take it to a Fusion session as well, 24 fast frets, versatile pickups, universal curb appeal, can't beat it. Of course custom finishes would be a cool option, but if there's only one color, I side with it being neutral.
Hi Ed, thanks for your comments. You make a lot of great points. A lot of times it's a neutral color that we may introduce first along with more color options later, but black or black satin is one of our best selling colors.
