Question! It seems from the demo it’s more than just a metal bass, correct? The single not finger style sounded really great too!

My first bass and second LTD guitar. I'm falling in love with this baby. Just perfect. After replacing stock strings to 65\130 and tuning C standart that tone and vibrations of instrument magnificient.  Thanks LTD company.

Got this from Thomann and must say that this bass shreds. Light and handy, it has a perfect metal sound. Very good bridge and materials. With a little effort got in on drop B tuning and it rocks.

Nick R.

I just purchased this bass from my local Guitar Center, been oogling it for months now and finally decided it was time. AND This bass shreds! it is an absolute metal riff monster, but it's also pretty tight for slapping and tapping. It definitely shines the most when you are just hammering some good old death metal. I recommend this bass to anyone that wants a simple set up with all the tone you could possibly desire in one clean, evile package lol.

Hi Nick, We're happy to hear how much you like your bass and that it is versatile while also very simple. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and comments here.

Nomiis

I would love to have one of these in BEAD. Any chance this kind of tuning is ever going to be released? Getting a bit tired of customising EADG basses. Who needs a g-string anyways

Bought this a couple of months ago. Absolutely love it! It's light weight and sounds amazing.

Carl N.

glad you're enjoying it!

kostas

in what tuning it comes out?

Carl N.

standard tuning?

kostas

standard E?

Syn

Is there going to be a 5 string version of this bass anytime soon?

Carl N.

Nothing planned currently for a five string

Anders O.

I have bought this bass and absolutely love it. I want to play with dropped tunings however. What is the heaviest string gauges that fit the nut slots? I want to avoid having the nut filed.

Carl N.

The nut was filed for the specific strings that came equipped with your bass, any changes to thinner or thicker strings would require reslotting the nut.

Erik T.

Will the B series hard shell case work for this bass? Thanks.

Carl N.

Hey Erik, our specifications note the AP bass case is the correct case for this model.

Marek S.

Hello, would it be possible to order this bass with regular headstock, not reversed? Same specs, just regular headstock.

Carl N.

Hey Marek, all of our instruments are sold as shown, unfortunately we cannot take custom orders for standard production models.

Matt H.

There should be a 5 string version of this. I would buy almost instantly.

Carl N.

Hey Matt, thanks for your insight!  But I'll need you to buy it faster than "almost instantly"

kostas

I like that bass image and the specifications , but why can not find a good review somewhere in video to check it?

Carl N.

Hey Kostas, there are some reviews avaialble online but none from us at the moment, sorry.  You could always visit your local ESP dealer and try one out in person.

kostas

Thanks for the reply, but the problem is that my local ESP dealer does not have it. Thanks anyway

Carl N.

Understandable, you could always reach out to your local ESP distributor and see if they could get one in for you.

Kevin Stafford

This would be perfect if it had passive electronics. Love this, but HATE the sound of active pickups. I'd buy one and replace the electronics, but the price is a bit steep for such a simple setup.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Kevin, Thanks for adding your comments here.

Monique Dunn

I would like to see it in F Style 5-String Bass

Grimm

I couldn't agree more, the F an FRX styles are just suited for metal and would look killer blacked out like this.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Grimm, Thanks for adding your comment here.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Monique, Thanks for that suggestion.

Mister-Sam

LOVE this model - would like to see a version with more pick-ups / perhaps EC bodyshape but with the same reversed headstock and black satin finish... black strings... mmmmmmmmm... *drools*

Todd B. ESP

Hey Mister-Sam, Thanks for those suggestions.

You Just Make me Laugh

Matt C.

Really impressed with this. Looking forward to other models for sure. A B5 would be insane and a future purchase if it was ever to come. Keep on bringing us bassists some love dudes!

Todd B. ESP

Hey Matt, Thanks for that!

Karolis S.

Thank you for your reply.
Really great concept - power in simplicity.
I hope that either your company will release a sound preview or maybe a Youtube reviewer will get hands on this beast.
Would really love to hear it. I expect a tone similar to Stingray, but with its own flavor on top.

On top of my list for sure!

Todd B. ESP

Hey Karolis, Got it. Hope we can accommodate your request!

Karolis S.

Hey,
Looks really good and I hope that one of these will be with me until end of this year, hehe.

I have question about electronics - It says that electronics are active, but as it only has a volume knob I understand that it is preconfigured in the cavity. Some more info would be great - is it your own brand preamp or EMG (as pickups are EMG). Is EQ flat on that preamp or it is setup EQ-wise for a specific tone?

Much appreciated!

Todd B. ESP

Hi Karolis, The EMG pickup has an internal preamp so it is an active pickup and requires a battery to operate. There is no external EQ or preamp, just a single volume control and of course a 9V battery. Of course you could add an EQ if wanted, but the whole idea behind the Black Metal Series is solid, stripped down guitars and basses that don't have a lot of extra controls to get in the way.
