This is my favourite guitar. Even tuned all the way down to C standard it intonates and stays in tune with only 11s.  It's like an f-bird but with all the traditional problems fixed (most importantly an added volute at the neck joint to strengthen it). The P90/humbucker combo cranked through a fuzz delivers vintage doom goodness. Absolutely volcanic.

This is by far the best guitar I've ever owned, I will probably never buy another epiphany again.

This color and hardware setup is really cool I would like to see this on an Arrow,  Ex , Eclipse,  MH and M series. The Cream and Gold always looks good.

how the heck to you restring this guitar when the tuning pegs don't have actual holes that you run the strings through?

What case type fits this guitar

Lorenzo M.

It’s an incredible instrument, with an overall quality that you would find for a higher price with other brands.

the only thing is neck balance when playing standing: anybody found a way to keep the guitar  up?

Curt Redman

Hi mate. I found that a suede strap does the trick to grip onto your clothes at the shoulder. I used a Levy's one for years with my Viper that had neck dive. Personal preference now is I drill new strap holes, so I can have a more comfortable padded, leather strap for easier movement. I drill one further up the end of the body and put one the horn. I only recommend that if you're definately not going to sell though, as it'll most likely devalue your guitar!

Phoenix 1000 is amazing guitar, I see no point comparing it with any other guitar, it just so special. It rocks! And I love offset guitars. I am confused with the different description of the wood the neck was made of. Here, on your site, you say it's 3-piece mahogany. But, on many dealer sites, it says it's made of 3-piece maple!? So, what wood is the neck made of? My Phoenix is 2019 made in Korea, which wood did they use for necks?

Cody H.

The new 1000 series Phoenix models are so sick!  Would you guys please consider releasing a 1000 series Viper with similar color scheme?  Vintage white, white pickguard, gold hardware, passive pickups....perfection.

Which Seymour Duncan custom pickup is the one in this guitar? I see on seymour duncan's website a custom custom, a duncan custom sh-5, a custom/59 hybrid and a couple others with "custom" in the name.

clemens m.

It's a sh-5. The custom (sh-5), custom custom (sh-11) and custom 5 (sh-14) are all basically the same pickups, just with different magnets. the custom has a ceramic magnet, the custom custom an alnico II and the custom 5 has an alnico 5 magnet.

Todd B. ESP

Hi, Thanks for our answer Clemens, you are correct. The Custom is the original Custom (SH-5). In the bridge position.

Paul S.

I like mine..

Todd B. ESP

Thanks! Glad to hear that.

Dan C.

Love that custom pick guard.  Where did you get that?

Paul S.

Dan C. Cheers bud.

Jacks instrument services here in the Uk. Theyre an authorised Esp repair agent but also have a side business called Tiny Tone.

I didnt much like the white guard and thought black would at least match the truss rod cover and LTD logo.

This ones a 3 ply black/cream/black, with the Phoenix logo engraved down to the Cream layer, which matches the body colour almost perfect lol. Worked out nice!

Dan C.

Hey Paul S.  Thank you for getting back to me.  Really appreciate the information.  I have several custom pickguards on guitars I own but never found a supplier that did engraving like yours.  That is really cool!

Cheers,

Dan C

Love this guitar. Was made for me. Love the humbucker p90 combo. Esp only for me from now on. Rock on!!!

Joseph T.

Would love to see a lefty in black..or purple. The off white would go well with the bass I have though

Thanks for the suggestions!

Hello Esp.

Wondered if you could advise.

I was speaking to an Esp endorsee the other day on the tube and he has this Phoenix 1000, so do I.

He mentioned the papers that came with his say the neck is maple, but its always listed as Mahogany online.

Just wondered if there were differences is all? Being the sad old guy I am haha!

Any doom metal fans that play this? if so, how does this thing handle it? thinkin about picking it up.

Cody H.

This might be an odd request, but have you guys ever considered doing a Phoenix with a 24.75" scale length?  I'd be really into it.  Either way, hoping to pick this model up later this year!  One day I would love to also own a more "traditional" spec Phoenix.

Carl N.

nothing planned at the moment

Ronga R.

Does this guitar come with a bone nut as stated.?

Carl N.

Yes, this model would come as specified

Wilfrid D.

Not the easiest but the coolest guitar i've played and owned. The guitar for those who like to be different.

Curt Redman

Cheers mate. Reckon I'll end up getting one. Grew up playing LTD's and love the necks, but don't play the heavy stuff these days, so this or the Xtone PS-1000 look like a good shout for me!

Curt Redman

Hi

What's the average weight of this model please?

Thanks

Carl N.

Around 9lbs, hope this helps

Curt Redman

Thanks mate!

Wilfrid D.

Mine is 4 kilos 340.

Wil D.

Just ordered today.Can't wait.

Carl N.

Hope you enjoy it!

Peter G.

If only you guys put the Fishman Fluences on this guitar too I love the color on this one I just like the pickups more on the other.

Carl N.

Understandable, It is a bit difficult offering every pickup configuration with every model we produce but in the end it shouldn't be too much trouble to have Fishman pickups installed later on if you enjoy this model so much.
