Just bought this guitar and I everything about it is perfect. I can't seem to stop playing it. Definitely recommend buying if you're on the fence about it. What I really want and have been waiting on forever for is a 7 string model exactly like this. Will that ever happen ESP? I doubt it but one can hope.
Bought one from Thomann being sure in LTD top quality I’ve witnessed. The guitar arrived without a piece of a fingerboard under the 24th fret, with messed up screw on the jack mount and with a huge scratch on the headstock. Also pickups are not angled to match the neck angle. Unacceptable for guitar of this price.
But still plays and sounds great, that should I give to it.
I like how all these people of course on espguitars.com are giving this guitar a good review.
Mine arrived in terrible shape, The nut was cut too deep I mean hell the plastic was even rubbing off on the strings.
Paint on the neck was coming off and the input jack literally fell out on stage third time using it.
Did it set up myself and also had two other professionals do so to attempt getting rid of a buzz that would not go away? This was after replacing the nut, of course, and it was not a truss rod issue.
I wouldn’t recommend this guitar to anyone unless they just got lucky And received a good one
I had it replaced once with another of the same model and had even more issues on the second even though it was supposedly inspected.
If you are looking for a baritone with even better features, that’s actually a few dollars cheaper and the same body style with even better pick ups and already comes with a graph tech tusq nut Not to mention, the whole guitar is graphite reinforced Check out
Jackson Pro Plus XT Monarkh SC T6 Baritonethey just got released
I myself have the soloist version of it and the craftsmanship, hands-down, not to mention playability and sound from those Duncan pick ups is insane
I can’t speak for the MH 1000 ESP baritone, but I mean it comes with the EMGs not the Fishman’s and both guitars have molded plastic nuts
LTD quality control has went down big time, especially when it comes to Baritones since not as many people play them.
This guitar is outstanding , I love it, I lowered the pickups and both voices sound amazing now.
I found that the ESP Premium Guitar Gig Bag is so well padded that this guitar's angled headstock was under pressure when zipped up, as such it would take less impact to damage the guitar at that point.
Being flat, the gig bag does not accomodate the angled headstock very well.
It's not a great fit in my opinion so i returned it.
*just the gigbag, obviously the guitar was not returned, it is outstanding
I finally, recently, received my EC-1000 Baritone. All I can say is "thumbs up"! The all black satin finish, with black hardware is totally awesome. The overall quality of the guitar is excellent, and you get locking tuners! The satin finish on the neck allows your hand to easily slide up and down; neck dimensions are very comfortable and I have average size hands. This guitar is also lightweight, coming in at about 7.5 lbs. The 27" scale length is just about right for me; I've played one with 27.7" scale length and this is more comfortable. In addition the .013 - .062 strings were a great choice; the action was set a little high in the factory, but I easily lowered the strings, while avoiding any buzz. I'm liking the active Fishman Fluence pickups and mostly play the ceramic bridge p/u. If you're looking for a great baritone guitar, you can't go wrong with the EC-1000.
You can view my other comments on this thread; however, to make a long story short, I turned in a PRS SE-277 baritone, to Sweetwater, in exchange for the ESP EC-1000 Baritone. I finally got the ESP a few days ago. All I can say is that, if you're looking for a great baritone, you won't regret getting this guitar. The all black satin caught my eye and I wasn't disappointed when I saw it in person......very cool looking guitar! I definitely prefer the 27" scale length vs. the 27.7" of the PRS; playability on the ESP is much better....very comfortable neck, and with the satin finish, your hand easily slides up and down. The locking tuners are also a big plus! This guitar is not heavy; I weighed it in at about 7.5 lbs. Compared to my Gibson Les Paul Custom, (about 9.5 lbs.), this is so nice to pick up. And yes, I've tuned down my Gibson, but strings can get a little sloppy. If you're playing songs with lower tunings, you should consider a baritone. The action was set a little high, for my liking, at the factory; however, I easily lowered it a bit. The Fishman Fluence pickups are growing on me; still playing with adjustments, but these pickups are definitely "active"; I mostly play the bridge pickup, with distortion. Now that I have this guitar in hand, it's a keeper for me.
Love the feel and look of this guitar! My first baritone and it’s amazing
I have one on order. When did you get yours? I spoke to ESP at NAMM and they said they would probably ship out in May?? I was able to handle one at NAMM, for the first time, and I was impressed. I turned in a PRS SE277 with Sweetwater, as an exchange for the ESP baritone; don't think I'll have any regrets. Will report back when I get mine.
Alejandro H., I found this new & mint guitar on Reverb at some French guitar store and bought it in a blink of an eye. It even had that sticker/label on the push-pull switcher. The seller told me that he bought it in UK to re-sell it in his online store. I believe this guitar appeared in a physical store in UK like a demonstrational guitar for new 2022 ESP LTD line.
Jeremy, thanks for your reply!
Jeremy, thanks for your response! So I ended up buying the PRS SE 277 and the action is really high; not to my liking. I just dropped the guitar off with a tech, and am hoping for improvement as he attempts to lower the action. I just did an internet search and am finding out that many guitarists complain about high action on the PRS SE series, more so the ones with tremolo bridges. The SE 277 does not have a tremolo, so I'm hoping that my tech can easily adjust it. If we can't adjust the PRS, my plan is to return it and look into the ESP Baritone.
If you guys made a left-handed version of this guitar, I would 1000% buy one
“New For 2022 - No More Lefties LOL.”
come on folks. Went from “we got your back” to “you’ve got plenty from 2020…you’re fine.”
…
Taking product line notes from Gibson lol.
Would LOVE to see this in lefty. Would buy sight unseen (that’s not a huge compliment we have to buy that way it’s not like Guitar Centers have lefties lol)
Please make a 7 string version of this.
Hey, Dan! I didn't place an order. I just bought in on Reverb from French store. They had it from July.
I guess it would be the first comment/review about this guitar. So, let's begin! I received it today and played for hours and I think I'm ready to tell a little bit about it.
For years I wanted ESP to release a new affordable Eclipse baritone. Yeah, we all remember EC401B, but it was a long time ago. Then we saw Ben Burnley signature - BB-600 which is awesome I believe and now we have THIS!!
1) LOOK: Guitar looks amazing and stunning. It's not your common plain matte black, it really has some structure to the color. Depending on light - it even seems like it's glittering and it's awesome! If you saw and touch Black Metal series - forget about them! This guitar beats them all. And to be 100% honest - I did not like BM series at all - very poor color and everlasting fingerprints even when touched once. Paintjob on this baritone is superb!
2) ERGONOMICS: Really well done. Classic Eclipse (or I'd say - LP-style) shape with all these contours that we all know and love. Very comfortable to play. Weight is worth mentioning too - it's very light! Lighter than my old LTD EC-1000 VBK. When you grab it - you feel comfort!
3) PICKUPS: Well, we're pumping a cherry here, because it's a very first time that I tried Fishman Fluence pups. For NOW they seem a LITTLE BIT (and I mean it - A LITTLE BIT) harsh for my taste, but maybe it's just me. I think I need to dig 'em more and find my sound with them. Anyway - all the fans of FF pups will love them I'm sure. And it's a good move to make this guitar with different pickups instead of EMGs. As for me - I'm a huge fan of SD Sentient/Pegasus combination (I felt in love with them when I bought my E-II EC7)
4) THE SOUND: This thing can roar! I'm not a big fan of Drop Q tunings, I use baritones as they are - in Standard B or Drop A occasionally but I think you can go much lower with this scale length of 27'' if you want to. As for the push-pull switch - you can get very interesting clean sounds using it. But I didn't hear much difference using it with high gain distortion.
5) OVERALL OPINION: I love it! Plays like butter, looks very smooth and stylish. Lightweight (which is good). Awesome neck profile, would be nice for those who can't handle 7 string guitars. And I know what I'm talking about because I have ESP E-II EC7 with Evertune bridge (I love it too but the neck is kinda wide for my taste). Having locking tuners is a must. Having luminlays is cool too! So, for now I can highly recommend it if you want to explore some new high-end LTD guitars!
BTW, my guitar is 2021 Korean-made (which makes me happy), although all online stores state that this model is made in Indonesia.
When did you order?
I was really considering a PRS SE 277, (have read very good reviews and the price is right), until I came across the ESP Baritone. Since this is new for ESP, not much for reviews thus far. Overall look and style, it's ESP all the way; however, I'd like to get your opinion in case you're familiar with the PRS. Btw, I own an ESP E II and love it.
Alejandro, I played the PRS 277 at my local guitar shop yesterday. It's not a bad guitar and the price is good. I also have an E II Eclipse and found the PRS disappointing. The fretboard on the E II is so easy and comfortable. The PRS wasn't bad -- just not as friendly as the E II. The neck of the PRS is huge by comparison. It's not just the length either -- it felt like a baseball bat. I have long fingers and I still found the PRS neck to be uncomfortably big. I know the Eclipse is more of a shredder style neck so it will always be thinner, but the PRS still took me by surprise. That said, the PRS sounded pretty good. But I suspect that if you're looking for a similar playing experience to your E II then this LTD baritone will likely feel more familiar. The PRS is also longer than this one with a scale length of 27.7. That's almost 3/4 of an inch longer than this one which makes the frets just that much further apart (which might make the PRS more suitable for even lower tunings). I have not tried this LTD baritone yet but I'm definitely leaning towards it for myself, especially after trying the PRS.
Thanks for writing this up! How would you describe the neck profile on this one? I often find baritones have thicker necks, but I'm hoping that's not the case for this one?
Maxim, my understanding is that the LTD EC-1000 Baritone is a new product and won't be available until March of this year. I already put my order in with Sweetwater. How did you get your hands on one?
You got lucky you didn’t get the Indonesian made model because the first and replacement I got of this guitar were complete trash
I have been waiting for something like this for a very long time! The BB Sig was just a bit too much. I have had a Gus-600 and still have my LTD JK-1 which are both 25.5", the JK-1 being the better of the two by far, especially with the sharper angel of the bridge allowing better intonation for drop tunings, that thing is a monster. Hoping to see the EC line up have another 25.5" outside the NW-44. A reboot of the ZH-EC-7B would also be welcomed! This will do for now though and will soon be part of the ever growing EC collection! Also hoping for an andromeda or cranberry burst finish on this!
If you guys make a left handed version of this beast, I will 1000% buy one!
When will these be available in left handed?
What’s the thickness of the body?
Where can I pre-order this guitar?
