Did the older ones come with Black Chrome hardware and the new ones with just plain black hardware?
Hi, technically speaking black chrome and black are exactly the same. I don't believe these were ever a different color, but I can confirm they are black chrome (black) currently.
Are the 2011 Snakebyte made in the custom shop? Seems to be a lot of confusion over the older Snakebyte.
Hi,
Prior to 2013 ESP built some Signature Series models including the Snakebyte at our ESP Standard factory.
Since 2013 all ESP Signature Series have been built at the ESP Custom Shop. These will have a different serial number prefix starting with “K” or “E”.
Just ordered this in LH! I’m so excited- even if it takes a while to get. Is it true these are made in the actual ESP Custom Shop in Japan?
Awesome, glad to hear that and thanks for sharing!
Yes it is true, all the ESP Original Series and Signature models are made at the ESP Custom Shop.
Diferencias entre esta y la LTD???

Bro, debajo de cada guitarra estan las especificaciones, chequealo por tu cuenta
Is there any way I could custom order a Regular Explorer(Like the One James used to have back then) if possible.
Unfortunately not
just got my Snakebyte.. can u give me some info /tips on the locking machine heads? Righty tighty to lock?
Yes, when looking at the back of the headstock you will turn them to the right
I'd love to see an '87 reissue of 'Eet Fuk'.
thanks for the insight
does this model have the graphite neck reinforcement bars? thanks
All of our ESP & E-II necks, with exception to one piece maple necks, have two pieces of graphite that run parallel to the truss rod, providing extra stability and reinforcement.
This guitar is awesome! Although the shipping wasn't fast, the guitar is very cool, James Hetfield is one of my favourite Compositors. Thank you for making this guitar
Glad you enjoy it. Shipping from ShopESP typically takes a full business week for the furthest areas away from us. Did this take longer than that?
Yes, the shipping took 11 business days, but I am fine with that because the guitar has already arrived.
Thanks for getting back so fast. I have guitars that range from 10k-15K but they are all fairly unique instruments in small batches. What I read is unless you’re an extreme discerning instrumentalist...which I’m not, I won’t really notice? Thank you for your time!
You should try them out for yourself
If I played this guitar right after the LTD what difference would I notice?
Not every player is able to differentiate the build quality or meticulous care that goes into an ESP vs an LTD. You could see it as the most expertly crafted instrument you ever played, or it could just be another guitar to you. Best way to find out would be to try them for yourself!
Hi quick question. Are these made from the custom shop? I was just wondering if it says SS stamped at the back Signature Series with serial number. Does it also come from the custom shop? Thank you.
Hey Mark, SS was typically used for standard series instruments. While these are not custom shop instruments they will be produced in a manner that is equal to custom instruments in terms of quality. I believe these will have an E prefix serial number currently. Hope this helps!
I see the description says custom shop that's why I wanted to know. So the earlier year models have different suffixes for the serial number is that right? Anyways I'm pretty sure the Snakebyte is crafted real well. Ever since I got to own my ESP MII I never want to own any other brand again. Been a big fam since the 90s! ESP all the way! Cheers for the info mate!
Hey Mark, they're crafted one by one, by highly skilled luthiers, in the same manner in which our custom shop instruments are produced. Typically these instruments are made to order. Hope this helps!
Thanks again mate! Cheers!
