    With its unique coloration and grain pattern highlights, spalted maple is a great look for a bass that stands out from the crowd. The B-205SM FL is an excellent choice in an affordable fretless 5-string bass that includes an ash body with a spalted maple top in Natural Satin finish, along with a thin U-shaped 5-piece maple/jatoba neck for excellent playing feel, and 24 clearly marked fret indicators to quickly hit the pitch you want. You also get passive ESP Designed SB-5 pickups, along with an active ABQ-3 EQ, and good-looking black nickel hardware. Available in Natural Satin finish.

    Just WOW!
    Got the B-205SM FRETLESS, love it!
    I sanded the neck added some oil. super smooth! add gold knobs, I've had it for 3 months and I really notice the difference going back to fretted bass.
    I'm glad I bought it. I might say good bye to my Yamaha's, 4-string is fretless. Buy the fretted version and keep them both for any styles. :-)

      What a whole lotta bass for the buck man! At some point I thought I might need to change the pickups for some Aguilar but I'm using it with a VT Tech 21, plus a  Boss Bass EQ, so really no need to invest any more money. I've had it for 4 or 5 years and I can tell it's built like a rock. Very versatile too since I use it to play from jazz, to pop, to hard rock and some heavy metal too.
