My latest guitar acquisition is a 2015 ESP LTD B-206SM Black Satin electric bass and man, it is the best ever bass I played by a long shot. You can feel and sense quality evewhere. The body's Spalted maple finish is stuning. Sound is rock solid with lots of mids that could be tamed/cut by just a counter-clockwise turn of the knob of the same name. Back of neck is flat and quite comfortable. The bass stays in tune even after several days non being played. The B-206SM is a bit heavy though, but it is because it is made of both Rosewood and maple, two great tonewoods. But this is easily fixed with 3" padded leather strap. 2 thumbs up ESP LTD for this great instrument !
Imported thos bass. How do i check the year of its manufacturing?

I was given a B-206SM as a gift and it didn't have an owners manual. Where can I download one?
I bought one of these used on a whim because it came up locally, I usually play a 5 string Bass in a Bar Band every weekend. These basses are incredibly versatile. The neck (with it's double truss rod) is as solid as any Bass I've ever played and the neck is amazingly slim for a 6 string. The support for these basses by the manufacturer is excellent, I really can't recommend them enough.
This bass is awesome I have no complaints and sounds awesome
Hi LTD fam, how to order this bass send here Philippines?
I recently bought one of these and the bass is absolutely gorgeous, the spalted top is amazng. Fit and finish are top notch. Two things let me down; the tuners and the pickups. With the strings off the tuners all wobble, which is not something I have on any of my other basses, They are solid when the strings are under tension. Still, a minor annoyance.
The pickups are terrible. They have no volume to them. I have adjusted my string height, and done what I can, and they make no noise. Or rather very little. I have to turn the volume up on my amp and they need to be replaced, which is a disappointment. Still everything else about the bass is great so i will keep it.
Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about the pick ups / electronics...
The active 3 band EQ is "flat" with everything in the middle notch. If the preamp on the bass has each EQ knob 100% counter clockwise, that would be the equivalent of turning every EQ band on your amp to 0. If you cut every frequency on your preamp, no wonder you're cutting volume! I own this bass and I can guarantee the pickups have a healthy output when everything is at least in the middle notch.
Hi bro, they you change your tuners? because im planning to change it with Hipshot tuner... but i didnt know if will fit on its headstock
What are the standard string heights for this?

Hello! I was curious about making adjustments to the 2 truss rods on this model of bass.
Are there any tips on how to approach adjusting this style of neck? Are these truss rods both dual action?
I've been setting up guitars/basses for several years, but I've never encountered a neck with 2 truss rods. I've looked extensively on the internet & have found no resources about the nuances of adjusting necks like this. Any tips or information you can provide would be super helpful!

how can I get the owner manual on this bass
from the support tab across the top of our page
I wanna buy a set of tone controls, where can I buys those?
Perhaps AllParts would be a good place to start
I would like to buy a new set of tuning machines for this bass guitar. I bought my bass from a dealer. I contacted a different dealer & they told me that ESP would not sell separate tuning machines. I might have got my words mixed up to the salesman. I really don't mind buying a set of (6) LTD Brand Tuning Machines for my ESP Bass Guitar. How can I buy a full set of Tuning machines for my bass? I really hate to cut corners by buying some other brand of tuning machines. My bass guitar is just like this one, 6 string.Same color of tuning machines.

Hi, what size Allen key is used to adjust the trussrod? I can't find anything to fit it?
Hey Claudell, 4mm, though I'd recommend taking this to a professional for adjustment if you're unfamiliar with this kind of work.
Hello,
what is the difference between this new model and the previous one with name on 12th fret?
Hey Alex, the name on the 12th fret, that's it. It's all the same, hope this helps!
Hello,
Are the tuning key screws #2 × 3/8" or #3 × 3/8"?
I'm looking at having Hipshot tuners put on, which come with #3 x 3/8" screws and want to get the sizes right.
Thanks!
Hey RJD, you can reach out to our service department for this information. customerservice@espguitars.com
Hello ESP! I am curious to know if there is any difference between the bridge and neck pickups? Is it a dual Humbucker setup or a P/J style setup? Also is there any difference between this new model and the previous iterations? Thanks!
Hey Jamil, bridge and neck pickups will be constructed differently since their positioning will produce different tones. These will be more in line with EMG/Seymour Duncan soapbar pickups but will be passive with an active preamp.
Hello! I want to buy this model, but stores like Thomann or Muziker still show pictures and specs of the old edition with the model name inlayed on the 12th fret. Is their website outdated or they may still be shipping the older edition? Could you tell me the year you introduced the new edition so that I can check with them what edition they have in stock? Thank you!
Hey Andrei, this was a running change that took place over the last couple years. Running change meaning that we introduced this while older models were still in house and with dealers. It would be best to contact the dealer you intend to purchase this from to see what version they currently have in stock.
Hi Andrei . I wish you much success in your search. The one I have, is the one that has the model # on the 12th fret. One of my thoughts is, the ones with the model
#'s on the 12 th fret might gain in value futuristically . I like to watch Antiques Road Show on PBS & I've seen some various instruments that are valuable because of uniqueness.
Again,I wish you happiness in finding the right one that suits you.
