Ville Koskinen: Live Bass Solo on the LTD B-206SM

ESP ALL ACCESS COMMUNITY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT! Okay, here's an old and pretty dumb joke that we still enjoy. A couple goes to see a marriage counselor. They say their marriage is on the rocks because they never speak to each other. The counselor tries to get them to talk, but they just sit there with their arms folded and their mouths closed. He tries playing games. He tries tricking them. Nothing he can do can get them to talk to each other. Finally, he pulls out a bass and starts playing a solo. Instantly, the couple turns to each other and starts conversing for the first time in months. “How on earth did you know that would work?” they ask. “Simple,” he says, “Everyone always talks during the bass solo.”

But we don't hear any chatter from the audience during this soulful bass solo of community member and multi-instrumentalist Ville Koskinen, who is using an LTD B-206SM for this live gig, doing a solo he says was inspired by the great Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath. As one of the world's most popular 6-string basses, the B-206 offers an ash body with a spalted maple top, a thin U-shaped 5-piece maple/jatoba neck, a set of ESP SB-6 pickups, active ABQ-3 3-band EQ, and good-looking black nickel hardware... all for way less than you think. Check out Ville's YouTube channel for more of his excellent music!

If you're doing cool music with your ESP, ESP E-II, or LTD guitar or bass, upload a video to the ESP site and we might select you as the next ESP All Access Community Member to feature on our front page where thousands of other players can check you out! Get the details here.
