About Me:

Caribbean born Jerry Orie is best known for uniting the Caribbean metal scene as the official representative for Wacken Open Air and founder of the Wacken Metal Battle Caribbean and Unkie's Open Air in this region. Jerry was the bassist for Netherlands based bands Disquiet & Cypher from 2001 - 2008. His 2006 debut album with Cypher, 'Darkday Carnival" reached the top 10 charts with Aardschok magazine and was also featured by Terrorizer Magazine's Fear Candy compilation album. Darkday Carnival was produced by Jochem Jacobs, known for his work with Textures, Epica, Heidevolk, Severe Torture and many more. In 2016 and 2017 Jerry toured with California based Taipan with Mexico's Hell & Heaven festival being one of the highlights of the tour. He has shared stages with the likes of Arch Enemy, Annihilator, Fear Factory, Death Angel, Sepultura, Suicidal Tendencies to name a few. He currently resides in his home country Suriname and is still active as a freelance touring bassist, regional show promoter & tour manager for Caribbean and international bands. Jerry is also the owner of Unker Bunker Terras, where he hosts Unkie's Open Air festival and fans proclaiming this the hardest rocking pub of the Caribbean.
